Abstract

The reason and urgency of research and analysis of emotional artificial intelligence lies in the sudden acceleration that the diffusion of these tools has undertaken in recent times. In the era of language models, capable of providing immediate answers to complex questions, even surprising for their ability to be creative, the focus is increasingly oriented to the ability of these machines to interpret and simulate human emotions. Scenarios and potentials are continuously and exponentially increasing and the psychology sector is certainly among those most interested in these innovations. The very role of skills in the psychological field, from the clinic, to neuroscience, up to work, changes and evolves, allowing professionals, after acquiring the related skills, to offer new forms of significant contribution, including research. In this paper, after an introductory overview of artificial intelligence and emotional artificial intelligence, exemplary cases of practical application of emotional artificial intelligence and machine learning tools and software will be analyzed and discussed, with a particular focus on HR and assessment dimensions. Finally, considerations will be made on the relative potential and criticalities.
