Training needs of psychologists enrolled in the Register of Psychologists of Campania

Abstract

The “University Committee” of the Regional – Campania, Italy – Professional Board of Psychologists, together with the Department of Psychology of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, has developed a questionnaire through which the training needs of the psychologists enrolled in the Register of Psychologists of Campania were assessed. The questionnaire was focused on two main areas of competences, i.e., specific, and general. Responses provided by the participants enrolled in the survey underwent a first data analysis allowing to distinguish the explored competences into: ‘already acquired’ and ‘not acquired’. Furthermore, the ‘training needs’ were also identified, that is the competences that the participants wish to possess regardless of having them. Results provide a complex picture that, however, will be of fundamental importance for planning a training offer capable of being useful, updated and tailored on the psychologists’ needs.
